Return of the daily photo

I am bringing back the daily photo. This format has worked in the past and now I am trying it out again. This reminds me of the good old days, and it is a pleasure to try to bring you another series of photos.

Stipulations. Actually this is a timely photo in that photos are brought out on a regular basis. A whole bunch of clarifications probably apply to these photos: things specifying that they are image art whose purpose is artistic appeal rather than photo journalistic accuracy. Further the date is approximately when the photo web page is brought out and is not necessarily the date when the photograph is taken, and may be a photograph from a previous year, etc. Further this "daily photo" may be one photograph, many photographs, or even a complex presentation.

Based on past sets of daily photos, I am expecting to have around 10 photos a month. Of course this number can vary.

This is just a quick word. Generally it is not important to you what the ground rules are here.

See these additonal stipulations and notes.

OK, the photo itself - First Snowstorm of 2007

As is typical of the Midwest, a respectible snow storm blanketed Wisconsin on Saturday Dec. 1, 2007. This short series of photos was taken on Sunday Dec. 2, 2007 as I was "truck'n around".

There is very little traffic as seen in the photos. This is because it is before noon on a Sunday on a day of moderate snow. Normally there is more traffic. Madison is normally very dead on a Sunday morning, as I have noticed before. Madison does suffer from traffic gridlock on its downtown streets during rush hour.

The snow is piled up in front of the Wisconsin State Capitol.
