We first discuss general conditions and qualifications and then discuss them for some specific cases.
A number of qualifications and conditions apply to this website. In general, these terms and conditions apply to all items on this website, whether they be blog pages, static blog pages, magazines, or regular web pages. Many pages have their own clarifications and conditions, such as blog items or photo pages, for example.
I am not a nutritionist, dietitian, or cooking expert. I offer photos and discussion of cooking on an "as is" basis. In general my recipes, if you want to call them that, are untested on other people, and may or may not be healthy or otherwise approved of. What I prepare as a meal may not actually be appropriate for you. What tastes good to me may not taste good to you. Meals sometimes are healthy and at other times may not be healthy. I may make comments on the health aspects of a meal. In this case it is a comment that I believe to be true; but in fact it might not be true. Thus if you follow or use any of my recipes, you agree that you are using them at your own risk. If there is any question, contact an appropriate expert.
My blog and other locations may contain sketches and artistic renderings. These renderings may or may not be accurate. On occasion, items can be deliberately distorted, and deliberate or accidental exaggerations (or reversals) can occur. These, if done, are done under artistic license. Sketches can be obnoxious, absurd, funny, ridiculous, or serious, and it may or may not be stated that this is the case. Different people see different things in art; I am not responsible for what people see or do not see. Also see the ongoing blog discussion of my art qualifications.
These notes apply to photos in general. Exceptions may apply to some photo sets.
Some web pages and blog entries can be hastily written, and may contain errors. Often I attempt to fix errors but there is no guarantee of this. Generally I endeavor to be accurate, especially when numerical calculations are involved.
Older web pages and archive web pages may have technical errors in the HTML, and may or may not render correctly in your browser. Further old pages or archive pages may contain information that is no longer current or correct. I do not necessarily maintain old or outdated web pages.
There are cases where I correct and remove errors, such as in some renderings of mathematical results. Some mathematical equations are rendered without the errors which appear in their renderings in books, i.e., errors have been fixed in some cases.
I write on a variety of subjects. I am not an expert in all areas. Often the writing process is an act of research in that it can aid the learning process. For example, I am not a cooking expert, and yet I present cooking results and recipes.
Many writings, such as in blogs, can be opinions or emotional statements.
Some writings are the equivalent of on-line research notes. This means that it is something that I am learning, studying, or researching, and therefore I may not be an expert on it.
There are situations where I might appear to reviewing a product, such as a commercial product. Usually this is a situation where there is a nice photo or nice related piece of art. It is the photograph as a piece of art that I am usually interested in. There are situations such as with commercial retailers where it is merited to mention the product or company; this essentially amounts to fair credit, for example, saying where a nice photograph was found. In some cases the store manager has requested that the store be mentioned as a condition for taking the photograph. Anyway, if I mention a product at such a store, any opinion of the product is my own, and this opinion might disagree with others or even with the store itself. Generally in these cases I am interested in the photograph and not the product review. In cases were I say something about a product, generally I try to say something nice. I am not an expert in reviewing such products. I receive no money or favors for taking such photographs, displaying such photographs, and for making the comments, which are opinions.
An item listed under the "photography" category or which is obviously part of any photo blog is there for the purpose of displaying a good photograph rather than to make a comment or opinion about a product, store, or whatever. If an item is a review then that is specifically stated.
Sites under the /domains directory are not part of my website and I am not responsible or liable for content or other issues. I am also not owner of any intellectual property in those directories. Ownership and other issues pertain to the respective owner of each of these sub domains.
